One of the most popular faces of the Hollywood Industry, Biel is an actress, producer, model, and a singer who works predominantly in the American Industry. First seen in ‘Ulee’s Gold’ in a big screen, Biel was awarded with Young artist Award in 1997. Being a great vocalist, Jessica was cast in musical productions till 1996, when she was conferred with the role of Mary Camden in 7th Heaven. And over the years as she has grown through her films, she has been recognized by many, and revered.

Early Life & Family

Jessica comes from a German, French, and English ancestry. Born to Kimberly, and Jonathan Biel, her family often moved from places, Texas, Connecticut, Woodstock, Illinois. Her mother, Kimberly is a homemaker, and a spiritual healer, and her father is a business consultant and a General electric worker. She was talented from her very childhood, and as she grew up, she played soccer and was trained as a level six gymnast, along with dancing classes, and voice training’s.
She has also attended acting classes for three years. Her brother, whose name is also, Justin, runs the Eco accessory line, BARE.
Growing up, as she was trained to be a vocalist, she used to do a lot of musical productions, and soon she entered a competition for modelling where she got a professional talent manager and an agent.

Relationship

Biel met her 7th Heaven co-star, Adam LaVorgna again during the filming of ‘I’ll be home for christman’ on the sets. And soon they started dating, and were in a relationship. She has also been in relationship Chris Evans. In 2007, she began dating Justin Timber-lake. Being in a very brief relationship with each other, they got engaged in 2011, and soon were pronounced husband and wife in October 2012. They have a son, Silas, who was born on April 11, 2015.

Popular Movies/TV Series

She started her career from a television series, which was one of the longest running shows of WB. As her popularity rose, she started getting offers. In 2002, she starred in ‘The rules of attraction’, by Roger Avery, which was an adaption of one of Bret Easton’s novel of the same name. Though the movie received mixed reviews, it was a major hit at the box office, and gained a widened cult throughout.

Her prominent rise happened when she did ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’. It was met with a lot of negative reviews however it was commercial success with a record breaking more than $80 million in US in the first week itself. Soon after, in 2003 she signed the contract for the Blade series. Her Blade Trinity was a massive box office hit. Despite receiving many negative reviews, it earned $150 million worldwide. And soon she went on a rush as she starred on plenty of successful films one after the other. With films like ‘Stealth’, she was named as the ‘Sexiest woman Alive’.

In 2006, Biel played the role of a duchess, in Neil Burger’s romantic mystery ‘The Illusionist’.  Along Jessica, it starred popular names like Edward Norton as the lead, and Paul Giamatti. The film was received with good reviews, calling it actually mystic, and the casting was also met with mixed response. Biel’s performance was widely appreciated by many. And as many critics wrote about it, Todd McCarthy of Variety wrote, ‘’Handily employing a refined English accent where the others lay on a light Austrian veneer, Biel is entirely stunning enough to fight to the death over.’’

Later she came with movies like ‘Home of the Brave’, ‘Next’, ‘I Now pronounce you Chuck and Larry’, ‘’The A Team’’, ‘’Hitchcock’’, “Total Recall”, and many more.

At the beginning of the 2008, Biel shot ‘Easy Virtue’, which was an adaption of a play by Noel Coward. The film got a chance to be premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2008. And as critics praised her performance, Todd again lauded her as he commented her performance as ‘Sparkling’, and she ‘more than kept up’. In the biographical film ‘Hitchcock’, she played the role of the actress Vera Miles.
On August 2017, her very own series, ‘The Sinner’, debuted on USA Network. She is both executive producer to this film, and plays the lead character. She stated that she had moved to production.

Controversies/Affairs

One of Biel’s earliest controversies fostered when in 2000, she posed for a risque photo shoot, for Gear Magazine. It created a lot of controversy as she was partially clothed, and the producers of 7th Heaven brought legal action against the Gear. Biel later expressed her regrets for doing the shoot.

She was also met with a large criticism when she spoke out against the controversial California vaccination bill. She said that she doesn’t stand opposed, or against the bill, but she stance for the fact that the state shouldn’t interfere between a doctor’s and a patient’s relationship.
