Born on 10th of January 1974 to film director Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik has established himself as one of the revered and highly paid actors in the industry. Growing up, he had stammered since the age of six, due to which he was teased in school and he often felt isolated.
He was cast at the age of six by his grandfather J Om Prakash in Asha (1980). And then later in Bhagwan Dada (1986) as younger Govinda, after which he decided to be a full time actor, but was then insisted by his father to focus on studies. He has worked as an assistant in his father’s Khudgarz, King Uncle, Karan Arjun, and Koyla.
His, Kaho na pyaar hai became an overnight success. With fans considering him the next star, it won him Best debut actor, and Best actor award for filmfare. However, his career took a sudden dip with his films like Fiza, Mission Kashmir, Yaadein. He was then considered as a one time star.
And then starred in Koi Mil gaya, where he astounded us all. With such unexpected acting, he won hearts. It became a success at the box office. Thinking of himself as a romantic actor, he signed films like Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham…, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Main prem ki deewani hoon.
After Koi Mil gaya, he started doing selective films, with iconic roles, like Lakshya’s Karan Shergill, and Guzaarish’s Ethan Mascarenhas.
His good looks and fine acting offered him with Hollywood films like Pink Panther, and Fast and Furious 7 as well. However, due to scheduling conflicts he had to decline them.
His career has been challenging. Hrithik and Sussanne’s 14 year long marriage ended in a mutual decision. And the alleged Kangana Hrithik war happened as well. However, he has faced all bravely. He believes that we’ll always have problems in life, and it depends on us how we accept it, and he follows one quote as it says, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”.
